Frequently asked questions

Does the link really delete my file when it expires?

Yes. When a link expires — by time or by reaching the max opens limit — the file is permanently and automatically deleted from our servers. Nothing stays online.

Does the recipient need an account to view or download?

No. Anyone with the link can open it in any browser. No account, no app, and no sign-up required on either end.

What is the maximum file size?

You can upload files up to 100 MB each. This covers most photos, short videos, and documents without needing to compress them first.

Can I expire a link early before the deadline?

Yes. Every link you create comes with an owner token stored in your browser. Visit your link and you'll see an option to expire it immediately, permanently deleting the file on demand.

What happens when the max opens limit is reached?

The link stops working and the file is deleted automatically. This is useful when you want to limit how many times a file can be accessed.

Is my uploaded file private?

Yes. Files are stored at a randomly generated URL that is not listed or discoverable. Only people you share the link with can access it.

Can I share HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Yes. HEIC files are converted to JPEG when you upload them, so the photos display for everyone — including Windows and Android, which usually cannot open a HEIC file at all.

Are my photos compressed when I share them?

No. JPEG and PNG files are passed through exactly as you sent them, so what the recipient downloads is the original — unlike messaging apps, which re-encode. HEIC is the one exception, since it has to become a JPEG to display.

Does it remove location data from my photos?

Yes, by default. GPS coordinates, camera model and capture time are stripped from JPEG and PNG photos before they are stored. The picture itself is untouched — only the hidden metadata goes. You can switch it off if you want the capture data kept.

Can I put a password on a link?

Yes. Set one on the upload form and the recipient has to enter it before the files load. Send the password by a different route than the link, and forwarding the link on its own achieves nothing.

Can I share videos and documents too?

Yes. Alongside images you can send video, PDFs, ZIPs, plain text, CSV and Word, Excel or PowerPoint files — up to 50 files on one link, 100 MB each.
